In the spirit of the Independence celebration, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, a House of Representatives member, representing Bende Federal Constituency, is set to award bursary to over 400 undergraduates, Igbere TV reports.
Igbere TV reports that the bursary award shall be given on October 1st, 2019 under the Benjamin Kalu Foundation Education Support Project.
Speaking over the bursary award, Hon. Benjamin Kalu said that education remains one of the keys to achieve success in life and noted that he will give much attention in that area.
He further disclosed that he is aware of the plight of most indigent students and that’s why he has decided to introduce this initiative which will go along way in helping them achieve their goals.
According to aides of the Hon. Benjamin Kalu, this set of beneficiaries will be the first batch of undergraduates to benefit from the 2019 edition of the Benjamin Kalu Foundation Education Support Project (BKF-ESP2019).
Igbere TV gathered that BKF-ESP2019 will be followed by several projects this year, including an educational support project for secondary school students, an Enterprise Support Programme targeted at artisans in Bende as well as the Benjamin Kalu Foundation End Blindness Project (BKF-EBP2019) an outreach targeting 3000 Bende indigenes for examinations, treatment, surgery and glasses prescription.
BKF-ESP2019 will kick off at 8am on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the Agbamuzu Town Hall in Bende Town, Bende LGA.
He urged parents, children, youths to come out on 1st October to celebrate the independence day.
