Governor Ugwuanyi has further demonstrated his commitment in providing the people of Enugu State with free and accessible healthcare by inaugurating De Paul’s Hospital at Maryland, Enugu.
Igberetv reported that Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, was accompanied by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Doicese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Callistus Onaga, on Friday, to the Vincentian Community, Congregation of the Mission, COVIAM Theologate, Maryland, Enugu, where they welcomed and identified with the Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria (Pope’s Representative), His Excellency, Most Rev. Antonio Guido Filipazzi, who was in Enugu for the Ordination of Priests, inauguration of the COVIAM Theologate and other pastoral engagements.
While in the community, the governor inaugurated De Paul Hospital of The Vincentians Province of Nigeria, located behind Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Maryland, Enugu, for provision of quality healthcare services to the people of the neighbourhood, irrespective of their status.
Recall that Governor Ugwuanyi paid N100m counterpart fund for Enugu state to receive free healthcare under the Universal Health Coverage. He upgraded and uplifted General Hospitals in the state. He assisted in the development of the Federal Hospital in the State. He employed more health personnels in the needed areas of the various medical fields in the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital and recently received an award of good governance in the health sector from The College Of Medicine, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, (UNTH) Enugu.
