Gov. Umahi Signs Agreement With FG as Ebonyi Sets To Become Major Salt Producing State

Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State, on Thursday, signed an agreement with the Federal Government of Nigeria, Igbere TV reports. 

Igbere TV reports that the agreement was signed in order for Ebonyi to become a major salt producing state.

Umahi, who was represented by Commissioner for investment, Barr. Joseph Ekummanka assured Ebonyians that the agreement will create more job opportunities for the youths in the state. 


Speaking after the agreement, Umahi’s Special Assistant on New Media, Mr. Francis Nwaze, said,  “another milestone was today reached by Ebonyi State Government as the Commissioner for investment, Barr. Joseph Ekummanka signed Memorandum of Understanding  with the Executive Secretary of Solid Mineral Development Fund, Hajia Shinkafi, in the presence of the Senior Special Assistant to the Govermor on Investment, Barr. Chioma Nweze as the witness for the development of Ebonyi State salt “.


“This signifies the beginning of a good relationship between Federal Government of Nigeria and Ebonyi State to develop the salt deposit in the state.” 

“The entire process was originated by the Developmental Thirsty Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, FNSE, FNATE.”
