The members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, are currently protesting in Umuahia, Abia state, over the refusal of the National and State Assembly Election Petition Panel sitting in Umuahia to release the true copy of the September 9 verdict of the tribunal to parties in the suit, Igbere TV reports.
Speaking with Igbere TV correspondent, one of the protesters said the the action of the Three-man panel, may not be unconnected with the plot to circumvent the electoral process and charged them to release the judgement to Hon. Nnamdi Orji, APC Reps candidate for Ohafia/Aochukwu Fed constituency, and Martin Apugo, APC Candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Fed. constituency and other parties involved.
The protesters who are currently in front of the High court in Umuahia accused the judges of being bias and giving wrong judgements in order to favour, Hon Uko Nkole, of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Ohafia/Arochukwu.
He said : “We are not happy because the law says that the copy of the judgment should be given to all the parties in suit within seven days but this is getting to 10 days”.
“This shows that they have given wrong judgements and want to compromise the materials. You can see that we are not happy.”
“All we want is for the judges to release the materials for all the parties for them to know next action which they will will take”, one of the protesters told our correspondent.
As at the time of filing this report, efforts by Igbere TV correspondent to speak with the judges proved abortive.
