BREAKING!!! COVID-19 : Police Shutdown Shops In Ebonyi, Arrest Owners For Not Having Sanitizers

The Police in Ebonyi State, on Thursday, arrested some shop owners for not closing their shops over the Coronavirus pandemic currently ravaging the country.

Igbere TV reports that the Policemen also shut down some shops for not having hand sanitizers for their customers and other protective materials such as nose masks and soaps.

Among those the policemen arrested include a hairdresser that refused to shutdown her shop.

As at the time of filing this report, the middle aged woman was whisked away in a police van.

Igbere TV recalls that Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State during his broadcast to the State over Coronavirus pandemic banned burials, marriage ceremonies, social and religious gatherings.

He said that enforcement of the use of nose masks, handkerchiefs to cover their faces and washing of hands or use of sanitizers by the marketers whether in the urban or rural areas should be carried out by the State’s taskforce.

On Wednesday, 23 New cases of Coronavirus were confirmed In Nigeria bringing the total number to 174.
