IgbereTV reports that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo Friday at a town hall meeting in Edo State said that Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti deserved national recognition from Nigeria government.
He made this known while answering to a question from one of the people present at the town hall meeting, who asked that the National Theatre Lagos be named after the legendary afrobeat music icon.
However, he said he doesn’t have the power to do that.
He said the late Afrobeat maestro deserves such national honour from the government even after his death as a father and icon of Nigerian music.
