The curtain fell on the 22-year-reign of The Gambia strongman Yahya Jammeh Saturday night when Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s leased Falcon 900 flew Jammeh and his family from the capital Banjul into exile.

Jammeh, his wife Zainab, mother and son Mohammed all wore mournful looks as they were being ferried out of Banjul into exile, according to sources close to the flight.

The Gambia (Adviser to the New President): Jammeh went into exile with $11 million and exotic cars

 The former ruler of the Gambian, Yahya Jammeh has been accused of stealing $11million (500m dalasi) in the past weeks before going into exile.

Jammeh was accused of flying out luxury cars by Mai Fatty, the Adviser to the New President, Adama Barrow in a cargo aircraft provided by the President of Chad, Mr. Idris Deby.

Gambian President Elect Adama Barrow Flee To Mali As ECOWAS & AU Vow To Force Jammeh To Step Down

President Muhammadu Buhari and other ECOWAS leaders may have tactically taken Gambia’s President-elect, Adama Barrow, into safety after a botched attempt to persuade President Yahya Jammeh to voluntarily cede power following his defeat in the 1 December 2016 election. Jammeh’s tenure ends 19 January.

Both the ECOWAS and the AU have declared that he would cease to be the leader of The Gambia from 20 January.
