Hundreds of supporters of Mr. Chima Anyaso, PDP candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2019 general elections in Abia State, have declared support for former governor of the state and APC candidate in Abia North senatorial district, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, Igbere TV can authoritatively report.
The supporters who stormed venue of OUK âWard to Wardâ campaign tour on Friday in Asaaga Ohafia community in over five buses marked ‘Chima Anyasom 2019’, were numbering over 100. Our correspondents were at the venue to cover the event.
They were seen chanting various solidarity songs in support of the former governor, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu.
âOnwere weightâ (he has weight), âAbuja directâ, âOUK for Senateâ, amongst others, were some of the solidarity songs they sang while declaring support for the APC Abia North Senator hopeful.
One of the supporters who spoke to Igbere TV on the condition of anonymity, said they have chosen to identify with progressive leadership in the state, rather than retrogressivesâ.
âWe are here today to identify with our progressive leader and father, Chief Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu. We want to show our solidarity and to throw weight behind his ambition. We are solidly behind him and we’ll gladly cast our votes for him and the APC in the 2019 polls,â the source said.
Commenting on reason for their action, the source declared: âOUK is a performer. His projects are there for all to see. He has garnered large support from far and near since the day he declared to contest in the forthcoming elections. Look at our town, despite not being in government for the past 12 years now, he has attracted several road constructions from the Federal Government to the state. For this reason alone, we left our meeting venue immediately the information got to us that he’s here, we’ve decided to openly show support for his ambition.â
