HORRIBLE!!! Tears And Bloodshed As Heavily Armed Bandits Storm Community Killing 26 People

Twenty six people including a one-year-old girl have been killed by suspected armed bandits at Gandhi district of Rabah local government area of Sokoto.

The attacks were said to have occurred at the early hours of Sunday in Warwana, Tabkin Kwasa and Dutsi villages.

Igberetvnews gathered that the victims were over 20 males and four females.
Some displaced persons from the affected villages have been taken to IDPs camp in Gandhi town, our reporter learnt.

According to witnesses’ accounts, the attackers came on 25 motorcycles, each carrying three bandits.
Another account said the bandits started attacking the communities around 5pm.

Confirming the attack, the state Commissioner of Police, Murtala Mani, said they had deployed more men to the area while a strong team of Army, police and Civil Defence Corps were currently patrolling the area.

While condoling the District head of Gandhi, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, described the attack as the highest level of inhumanity against man and regrettable.

He assured that the government would continue to do its best to protect lives and property of the people.

Tambuwal urged the people of the state to cooperate with the security agencies by reporting any pending attack.

He assured those displaced by the attack that the government would provide them with all the necessary support during their stay in the camp.

While praying Allah to bring the killings to an end by exposing those behind them, he also prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and their families the fortitude to bear the loss.

The governor who earlier cancelled his campaign in Goronyo local government area over the attack was accompanied by the former Governor of the state, Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa and the chairman of PDP in the state, among others.

This is the second time the bandits attacked the district. In July 2018, 30 people were killed in a similar attack in Rabah local government area.
