Former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has restated his commitment towards a peaceful poll in this year’s election.
Dr. Kalu is the APC Abia North senatorial candidate in the 2019 general elections.
He spoke on Friday in Umuahia during the APC gubernatorial flag off in the state.
Kalu, while speaking further, said the APC remained the only party to beat in the coming general elections, and called on the people of the state to support the party’s candidates in ensuring victory for the APC in the elections.
The Abia North Senator hopeful added that “the APC will form masses oriented government in which the people of the state will benefit positively (from the great policy and programmes) unlike what is currently being experienced (in the state).”
He called on individuals or party who plans to tamper with election results to have a rethink, saying, “the people of Abia would surely defend their votes.”
