Owabie, popularly called J-BOY two days after confessed his deed to some of his friends who raised alarm to the police that led to his arrest.

The deceased cousin said the victim went to pick her personal belongings from Owabie’s residence last Sunday when a hot argument ensued between them, leading to a serious fight, which led to her death.

“It was as if she knew that J-boy was going to kill her. This is because she informed her sister of her whereabouts before leaving for the suspect’s house. At a point into the fight, she called her sister from her boyfriend’s house with a tearful voice that he was going to kill her. The sister could literally hear the sound of the boy hitting the victim as she kept shouting and crying.”

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the incident.

Spokesman for the Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, said that the suspect has been moved to State Criminal Investigation Department.

DSP Nnamdi added that the Police have been mobilized to scene of the crime to exhume the corpse.

“We have credible information that J-Boy dug a shallow grave in his room where he buried the young girl friend,” he said.

In the meantime, a special squad has been deployed to Rumuepirikom Community to forestall a possible breakdown of order that may arise as a result of the slain girl.
