Osun Rerun: Heavy Tension as Police Force Residents To Lay On The Ground (Photo)

Security personnel covering the Osun rerun election were this morning spotted ordering residents in in Orolu local government area in Osun state to lie on the ground ahead of the commencement of voting.

IGBERE TV could not ascertain the crimes of the victims but a social media user who captured the incident from afar, posted the picture online alleging police harassment in their area.

Orolu is one of the four local government areas where the rerun election is current being held after last Saturday’s gubernatorial election was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a related development, a man who was allegedly distributing money to voters have been arrested by the police. It was reported that he refused to reveal his name despite persuasion from the press.

He, however, confirmed his offence was distributing money to voters. He was allegedly in possession of Fake voters cards. He has been whisked away by security agents.
