As voting continues in the ongoing Osun state governorship election, Sen. Babajide Omoworare, Senator representing Osun East has reportedly said his party, the All Progressives Congress APC is struggling in Ile Ife to get votes, and their priority at the moment is not to win in the area but to prevent suffering devastating defeat in the area that may have a destabilizing effect on the result from other zones.

“In Ife, our party, the APC is like an orphan. The candidate of SDP is from Ife and the deputy governorship candidate of PDP is from Ife. The people tend to be wondering what APC will offer Ife. We are just struggling to get appreciable votes and prevent our party from suffering too much defeat from Ife.
“Like in football, Ife is the goalkeeper in this election, if we concede too much goal from here, it will affect our success in other areas.” Sen. Omoworare reportedly said.
