A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia state Chief Amobi Ogah has sympathized with wife of late former United Nation Secretary General, Nane Maria Annan on the death of her husband Koffi Annan at the weekend at the age of 80.
Ogah, an Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency aspirant also expressed satisfaction with the role Annan played in enhancing global peace and uniting the world, adding that the continent has lost a rare breed in Annan.
“My heart goes to the family of the former UN Chief, especially the wife Nane Maria Annan, the people of Ghana and the staff of UN on death of Annan.
“He would remain an unforgettable figure across the globe for the visible landmarks he achieved in making the world one united entity.
“The continent without any shadow of doubt has lost one of its rare breeds who helped in bringing the African affairs to a global table” he said in a condolence message.
Ogah also called on other African leaders to take a cue from the exemplary leadership of Annan and push for the development of the region at all times against personal aggrandisement. He prayed God to grant the soul of Annan a peaceful rest and grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
