Biafra : IPOB's Ultimate Demand For The Release Of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Remains Unchanged Before Igbo Leaders

BIAFRA: IPOB’S ULTIMATE DEMAND FOR THE RELEASE OF MAZI NNAMDI KANU REMAINS UNCHANGED BEFORE IGBO LEADERS

The refusal by the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo to meaningfully respond to the outlined terms for reconciliation and agreement with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) globally, is to say the least, most callous and a brazen act of irresponsibility. Professor Ben Nwabueze (SAN), a reputable Biafran elite had wisely encouraged a parley between the leadership of the IPOB worldwide and that of the Ohaneze Ndigbo socio-cultural group, to mend fences by seeking modalities to amicably resolve hostile areas inhibiting cordial relationship between the two bodies.

This was to engender relative peace and cooperation in fostering the Biafran cause. However, the blunt refusal and insincerity of the Ohaneze leadership (Igbo leaders) to accept and address the ameliorating conditions as presented by the IPOB leadership as pre-requisites for meaningful dialogue, truncated the entire process. The unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his aged parents from the secret detention of the Nigerian army amongst others, formed part of the terms/conditions for peaceful dialogue.

Based on the Press statement signed by the IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful which was made available to Newsmen on Thursday 9th August 2018, the IPOB leadership made it pointedly clear to all the Igbo political, traditional and opinion leaders who connived with the Nigerian government to unleash terror on Igboland through Operation Python Dance II in 2017, to compel the government to respect the laws of the land and unconditionally effect the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents from illicit detention for close to one year running now. In that murderous exercise staged by the Nigerian army, hundreds of Biafran innocent agitators were tortured, killed and maimed in Aba, Isiala-Ngwa and Umuahia alongside 28 others gruesomely murdered in the palace of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s father, the traditional ruler of Afara-ukwu Ibeku, Umuahia, Biafraland.

According to Comrade Emma Powerful, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has closed every available door opened for dialogue with anybody on third party consultation. He emphasized that anyone or group of persons seeking whatever attention with the IPOB, will have to directly link contact with the IPOB Global Headquarters in Germany.

The so-called Igbo leaders of thought misconstrued the opportunity presented to them to comprehensively bring repentance for their evil deeds and by implication, redeem their soiled image, to mean boasting that the entire sphere of Biafraland is firmly under their control. They proudly posited that they have the untainted pleasure of inviting or summoning anybody or group of persons at their own beck and call. This stemmed from their boasts before their Hausa-Fulani slavemasters that the statements of the IPOB that the continuous extra-judicial incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his aged parents since the 14th of September 2017, portends a dangerous phenomenon which is capable of throwing the entire continent of Africa into an unprecedented upheavals if they were not immediately released. Whether Ohaneze Ndigbo with their other fellow leaders/accomplices are interested in brokering peace or not with the IPOB over their well documented treachery, it is pertinent to understand that the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents from detention serves as a veritable route for their escape from the upcoming damnable consequences. The Igbo leaders are at liberty of their right to decide on the rejection or acceptation of the conditions for peaceful reconciliation which IPOB leadership placed on the table.

However, they are compulsorily obligated to demand for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu because they in concert with the Nigerian government, orchestrated the Operation Python Dance II murderous scenario from which Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was abducted on 14th September, 2017. The Ohaneze Ndigbo leadership with the Southeast Governors, unanimously instigated and endorsed that dastardly act to pave way for the planned forceful conduction of Anambra State election which Biafrans overwhelmingly rejected.

If Ohaneze Ndigbo, the Southeast governors, the traditional rulers and some other notable Southeast religious leaders who played outstanding roles in facilitating the Operation Python Dance II, fail to overtly place demands before the global community for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents, they should also note that they have wittingly given invitation to anarchy in Biafraland which will very definitely, consume all of them. It is necessary for the aforementioned/concerned Igbo leaders to fully understand that the IPOB youths have seemingly exhausted their patience, waiting for the release of their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Let be aware that nobody lays claim to the monopoly of violence and therefore could resort to available means of extra-judicial, self-help mechanisms in rescuing their leader from the detention facility of the Nigerian army, with the countdown beginning hence. The world bears witness that even the Nigerian judiciary has relinquished it’s professional responsibility by failing to compel the military authorities to effect the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who was granted bail shortly before his abduction. Should Biafran youths carry through their threat, the Nigerian government should be prepared to bear the brunt because it will be catastrophic. The global community should hold Ohaneze Ndigbo, Southeast governors and of course the Nigerian army accountable for whatever eventualities. But should Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents be freed today, the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, will then fully concentrate on global requests and diplomatic consultations for Biafra referendum cum restoration which are pivotal mandates.
