Former Governor of Abia State and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr. Orji Kalu has described the victory of Dr. Kayode Fayemi of the APC as a testament to the general acceptance of the APC across the nation.
While acknowlgdeing the political and intellectual capacity of Fayemi, Kalu urged the people of Ekiti State regardless of party affiliation to support the new helmsman in taking the state to enviable heights.
Stressing that the APC-led federal government has executed projects that have impacted lives positively across the nation, Kalu emphaszsed that with Fayemi’s emergence as Governor, more federal projects will be attracted to Ekiti State.
In a goodwill message signed by his Special Adviser, Prince Kunle Oyewumi, Kalu urged Fayemi, to run an all-inclusive government for the sake of rebuilding Ekiti State.
He said, “the victory of Dr.Kayode Fayemi in the Saturday governorship election in Ekiti State is the beginning of a new era in the state.
“The APC remains the only political party with the interest of the masses at heart.
“The era of poor leadership, propaganda, hooliganism,thuggery and violence is over in Ekiti State.
“There is no doubt in the capacity of Fayemi to drive development in the state.
He has done it before and now he will do better.
“The people of Ekiti State have spoken and they have made the best choice”.
The former governor while commending the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and the people of Ekiti State for a hitch-free election, stressed that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is working restlessly to sustain democratic values.
Kalu equally used the opportunity to berate perpetrators of hate campaign against the federal government, stressing that Nigeria is better off under the present administration.
