Plateau massacre: Fani- Kayode chides Miyeti Allah, warns of more killings

Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, has attacked the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria for saying that the Sunday attack on Plateau State villagers was in retaliation to the death of their cows.

DAILY POST reports that the Chairman, North Central zone of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Danladi Ciroma, on Monday claimed that thekilling of 86 persons in Razat, Ruku, Nyarr, Kura and Gana-Ropp villages of Gashish District in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area l of Plateau State was in retaliation to the killing of over 300 cows in the last few weeks by the villagers.

Ciroma was quoted as saying “These attacks are retaliatory. As much as I don’t support the killing of human being, the truth must be told that those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission.

“There have been recent reports of cow rustling and destruction of farms between Berom farmers and Fulani herdsmen. The people carrying out these criminal activities are well known to the communities but the communities are hiding them.”

However, reacting, Fani-Kayode, devastated over the incident on Twitter said herdsmen who value cows more than human beings have no place in a civilised society.

He also warned of more attacks by suspected herdsmen.

Fani-Kayode wrote, ”Miyetti Allah says the reason its members slaughtered 200 innocent and defenceless Christians in Jos yesterday is because they “stole and killed 300 of our cows”.

”I am at a loss for words! For the last 3 years I have spoken out against these creatures and their barbarity..

”People that value cows more than human beings are no better than animals and have no place in a civilised society.

”I warned that this would happen but few listened. Now it is unfolding before their eyes and it will get worse. The only thing left to say is “pray for Nigeria”.
