President Donald Trump has extended his condolences to Anthony Bourdain’s family and remembers him as “quite a character.”
“ I think it is sad, i want to extend to his family, my heartfelt condolences, it was very shocking when i woke up this morning to hear that Anthony Bourdain is dead.
“I enjoy his show, he was just a character,” he said.
US celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, host of CNN’s food-and-travel-focused Parts Unknown television series, died at the age of 61.
The cause of death was suicide, the network said in a statement.
He was found dead in a hotel room in Strasbourg, France, where he had been working on an upcoming episode of his program, the network said.
Bourdain’s death was the second suicide this week of a high-profile American figure.
