A 30-year-old male teacher who was arrested by police for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl, has accused demonic powers of being behind his satanic behavior.
Yesterday morning, Nyimba police in Eastern Province of Zambia confirmed having arrested a secondary school teacher for defilement of child contrary to section 138 Chapter 87 of the Penal Code of the laws of Zambia. The suspect identified as Milambo Mweenda Mpanga allegedly had carnal knowledge of the girl at his house within the school teacher’s compound.
Assistant Police Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi narrated in a statement that a Ms. Julien Zulu aged 46 of the same teachers’ compound reported to the police after noticing that her granddaughter looked physically weak and emotionally disturbed.
Upon noticing that, the victim was interviewed and later disclosed that the Mr MIlambo Mweenda forced himself on her after he removed her pants by force and later tried to give her money which the child rejected and went outside crying.
The Assistant Police Spokesperson added that the incident happened yesterday 1st June, 2018 around 10:00hrs.
“The minor was taken to Nyimba District Hospital for medical examinations and treatment where it was confirmed she was defiled as male semen was found.
And after interrogations by the police, Mr Mweenda is reported to have admitted defiling the 10 year old girl, but accused demons in him of being responsible for his inhuman behavior.
“Yes, i raped the girl yesterday (1st June 2018) after something in me forced me to call the girl in my house so that I can give her some pens and books. But inside there, i just found myself on top of her while she was crying. Its not really me but demons in me”, he pleaded.
A docket of case has been opened, suspect arrested and detained in police custody. He will appear in court soon,” Chilabi said.
