C'River Govt Needs OMPAN to Succeed - CPS (Photo)

The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor of Cross River State, Mr. Christian Ita has promised to ensure that the state chapter of Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, OMPAN gets a working relationship with Government.

The Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor of Cross River State, Mr. Christian Ita has promised to ensure that the state chapter of Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria, OMPAN gets a working relationship with Government.

Mr. Ita disclosed this during a familiarisation visit of OMPAN members to his office on Wednesday in Calabar, adding that the umbrella is a bloc to protect the interest of members.
While indicating his interest to to embrace OMPAN, the CPS said, “My office is always open for you and we will collaborate and cooperate with you to advance the course of Cross River State”.
He urged members of the Association to be credible with their stories and also to project the image of the state; the human resource, the perception of peace and the cleanliness.
He said, “I am happy that this body has deem it fit to pay us a visit. Government will work hand in love with you to ensure that our people not only key in to the projects and programmes of government but are made aware of what this government is doing to improve the livelihood of the people.
“A lot is being done by government, but one of the biggest challenge we have in Cross River State is that the state is quite wide; today a road is being constructed in Wanihem in Ukelle, and the man in Calabar does not know about it. So, we will need your assistance to propagate this projects across the State so that our people can understand that we have a government that is not only industrialising the state but a government that is also into social infrastructure”.
Mr. Ita further reiterated that, “we are going to work hand in love like I said, and my doors are always open, my phone lines are always open, so if there’s anything you do not understand, just simply get across to me to ensure we are on the same page all the time. Let’s protect Cross River State like an egg, for it is the only state that we have”.
On his part, the Chairman of OMPAN, Cross River State chapter, Mr. Efio-Ita Nyok expressed his gratitude towards the warm reception given to the association by Mr. Ita, adding that her members will be more professional in their reportage to ensure Cross River State, in the eyes of the world, is something to reckon with.
