A police van veered off the Eastern bypass Bridge in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital and plunged into a canal.
IgbereTv understands The incident happened early on Monday morning while the officers where reportedly chasing a car believed to be carrying diesel.
The accident caused a scene in the area of people gathered in their number at the scene.
It is not clear on the number of casualties as at press time.
