NN19: Bad News for Buhari, Others From Northern Youth (MUST WATCH)

A Youth political movement, the New Nigeria 2019 (NN19) have called on President Mohammadu Buhari to jettison his 2nd term ambition but rather support a young, vibrant and innovative Nigerian to take over from him in 2019. NN19 Made it’s position know via the spokesman of the movement, Anbdullahi Abdul Majid, during their three-day retreat from Friday 11th March to Sunday 13th March 2018, in Igbere Abia State at the country home of oil magnet, Chima Anyaso (who is also the founder of the association. .

Speaking exclusively with Igbere TV correspondent, the spokesperson of the New Nigeria Movement, Comrade Abdullahi spoke about the group’s intentions and what they want to achieve come 2019 general election.

According to him,

“The New Nigeria Movement is a young democrat political platform that was established for the direct response to the age longed marginalization and depravation of young young people in governance “.

” At a point in time, the young people believed that Nigeria is the only country that they can call theirs but with the way the country is being governed by the old people shows that they don’t care for the well being of the masses.

“And we believe that when leadership is positive, the entire society enjoys it and the young people are part of the society but when leadership is negative, the entire society also bears the consequences. Young people are most vulnerable to the consequences of bad governance.

“So, we have decided not to keep talking about the bad governance in Nigeria. Instead, we have decided to take our destiny into our hands. NN 2019 is a platform where the young people are coming together to define the kind of Nigeria that they want and also specify in clear cut terms the sacrifices we need to make in order to make that new Nigeria possible”.

“So, under the NN 2019, we will be doing a lot of advocacy and capacity building. We will be building networks and linkages. Everything that needs to be done to ensure that young people have an opportunity to contribute to a Nigeria that works is what we will be doing under NN 19”.

“Dr .Chima Anyaso who is the convener of this group has been doing a great work in drafting what we want to achieve with this group so that every Nigerian will enjoy when we finally achieve our aim.

” Also, NN 19 is not totally a youth movement, it is a youth run movement for young democrats but everybody who believes in the kind of Nigeria that we want will be accepted.

When asked about his message President Muhammadu Buhari who wants to run for the forthcoming election despite his age, he said.

“Not just President Muhammadu Buhari but any other old person who has taken part in running the affairs of this country, it our opinion that we have entrusted the destiny of this country into their hands for far too long and the result that we are seeing is not the result that the young people are comfortable with.

“And what we have as a message to President Muhammadu Buhari is that as an individual and as a leader who has tried his best is that he should know that for this country to achieve its potential, he should take a back seat and allow the young people that are endowed with 21st century visionary leadership capacity and abilities and skills of the digital age, technological know how, creativity, energy, to govern the country so that they will remove Nigeria from third world country to 1st world country”.
