APC Crises Get Messier As Deputy Chairman Exposes Amaechi's Rigging Plot

The pending crises in the camp of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State may finally explode ahead of its ward Congresses scheduled to hold tomorrow. This is coming as the deputy state chairman of the party, Chief Peter Odike has exposed undemocratic plots by the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to manipulate the congresses.

Chief Odike in a statement on Friday accused Amaechi who is the Leader of the party in the state of plotting to use Intels Camp as a place to perpetrate electoral fraud.

The top chieftain of the Rivers State APC also called on President Buhari to call Minister of Transportation to order.

The press statement obtained by Suanu’s Blog reads below:

“It has come to our notice that INTELS camp in Port Harcourt is being used by the Hon. Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, the state Party Chairman of the APC, Chief Ibiamu Ikanya and their acolytes as a safe haven where all manner of electoral fraud is being perpetrated to subvert the will of members of APC in Rivers State in the ward congresses scheduled to hold tomorrow, Saturday the 5th of May, 2018.

All the electoral materials meant for the conduct of the congresses have been hijacked on the orders of the Minister of Transportation to the INTELS facility where nominations forms are being issued and lists of ward executives for an exercise yet to take place being compiled against the rules and guidelines of the party governing the conduct of the congresses.

In order to carry out this illegality and impunity, the party secretariat where all activities preceding the congresses ought to take place has been abandoned and deserted.

We therefore want to strongly appeal to the management of INTELS Camp and other hotels in Port Harcourt not to allow their business premises to be used to perpetrate fraud against the laws of the APC and Nigeria.

We also want to call on President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari and the National leadership of the All Progressives Congress to call the Minister of Transportation to order to desist from carrying out activities designed to subvert the will of party faithful in Rivers State as such activity is capable of painting our party in bad light thereby destroying the faith of the electorate in Rivers State that APC is capable of doing things right in accordance with its own rules.”

Suanu’s Blog recalls that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in a statement on Thursday had advise hoteliers in Rivers State against allowing APC to use their hotels to forment troubles during tomorrow’s ward Congresses. However, the Rivers State APC in a response by its state publicity secretary, Chris Finebone termed Wike’s advise and good wish as hypocritical.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State chapter of the APC has alleged that the State Governor, Nyesom Wike has sponsored a group within the party to destabilise the upcoming ward Congresses.

Rivera State APC in a statement signed by its Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, said Gov.Wike’s wicked plan has been uncovered. Chief Ikanya also alleged that “the group collected huge sum of money from the governor with the sole purpose of discrediting the congresses through wild allegations against leaders of the party especially the leader of the party in Rivers State and Honourable Minister for Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and the State Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya amongst others”.

The other party of the statement reads below:

“Details of the plan seem to have been rolled out already as the group has gone on air to accuse the Minister of hijacking materials for the congresses, an accusation that exposes the ignorance of the group and makes absolutely no sense at all.

Whereas the APC is working hard to fully expose the full dimension of the plot and the evil people that are hell-bent on destabilizing our party congresses, we urge party faithful and the general public to ignore the well-known antics of Gov. Wike, the PDP and their collaborators within and outside the APC who have sold their souls to blood money. The party re-assures all members of strict adherence to the guidelines of the party congresses and not to be distracted by anyone or group under any guise.

The party would like our members and the general public to refuse to be deceived by these agents of doom who are likely to employ diverse means to destabilize the party in fulfilment of the agreement between them and their sponsors”.

Rivers State seems be boiling as at the time of filing this report as supporters of a frontline Governorship Aspirant, Sen.Magnus Abe have vowed to ensure that all the undemocratic plots by some elements of the party within the state never come to fruition tomorrow.
