A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia state and a House of Representative aspirant for Bende Federal Constituency Barr. Benjamin Kalu has revealed that the party is aware of the identity of those sponsoring what he called internal squabbles in the state chapter of the party.

He made this revelation at the end of the caucus meeting of the party in Umuahia recently. He said, “The big leaders in Abia politics have all convened to clean up things in the state as well as to put our house in order because a house that is divided against itself cannot stand.

“This is what we have painstakingly achieved today. There was a distraction at a point. It appeared as if it was going to be long lasting and would have affected the fundamental reason of coming together today. Because we are prepared, we overcame it and that is exactly how we are going to overcome other challenges that we will meet in the course of repositioning the party APC in Abia state and making sure that we put in place a system that will deliver the dividends of democracy to Abians and her residents. APC cares for all not only in Abia state but across the entire federation.

“APC is a national party and we are repositioning to ensure that no internal squabble, no internal distraction is solid enough to disintegrate the centre. This message should be taken home by those who are sponsoring this kind of distraction. We know they are not ordinary. They are sponsored and we are aware where the sponsorship is coming from but we are not deterred but prepared to make sure that we put the dividends of democracy to the benefit of all Abians and Nigerians in general”.
