Ohanaeze reacts to Okorocha claim that Igbos play worst politics in Nigeria

The apex Igbo socio political organization, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has faulted claims by the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha that Igbos play the worst politics in Nigeria.

Okorocha had called for a change in strategy if the South East was to attain political relevance in Nigeria’s political space.

Reacting, Ohanaeze challenged Okorocha to carry out a critique of his remarks and come up with a more appreciable opinion.

In a statement issued in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital by its National Publicity Secretary, Prince Uche Achi Okpaga, the body described Okorocha’s claim as untrue.

Okpaga said, “Every human being (or race) is affected or influenced by his cultural, religious and social backgrounds. Ndigbo are no exception.

“The republican and egalitarian nature of Ndigbo distinguishes them and, as well influences them in all ramifications.

“To say that Ndigbo play the worst politics without first juxtaposing it viz-a-viz these inalienable factors that influence them may not be correct.

“I advise whoever is of this opinion to x-ray it once again and profess a more appreciable opinion.”
