2019: APC has free ride to Cross River Government House – Ex reps member, Paul Adah

A former member of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Paul Adah has said that the All Progressive Congress (APC) will have a free ride to Cross River Government house given the poor performance of Governor Ben Ayade.

Adah stated this in his country home Obudu when he played host to thousands of supporters and leaders of the APC at the occasion to mark the annual Obudu New Yam festival.

The former lawmaker, who is a member of the APC said that Ayade’s poor performance since he assumed office in 2015 will give his party a smooth ride to the government house in 2019.

He regretted that after over two years in office, Ayade had little or nothing to show in terms of achievement in any part of the state, including Obudu where he comes from.

According to him, “Well, I’m not involved in the government of Cross River State but in Obudu where I’m speaking with you, we have not seen any dividend of democracy and it’s the same in other parts of the state.”

“Because I have not seen the dividends of democracy in Obudu, that means Ayade has indirectly fertilized the ground for APC takeover of Cross River State.

“All we in the APC need to do is to remain committed, dot all the ‘Ts’ around so that we take over the leadership of the state by the grace of God in 2019”, he added..

Speaking about the significance of the new yam festival, he said that “We do this annually in appreciation to God almighty because if you look at it carefully, you plant a small piece of yam by February, March, April and by September when you go to harvest it, you will discover that what you will harvest will be bigger than what you planted.

“So we have reason at every season like this to thank God for these wonderful blessings that he has constantly given us”.

The occasion was graced by a former federal legislator representing the Etung/Obubra federal constituency, Hon. Ernest Irek and a member of the Presidential Committee on Electoral Reform, Dr. Francis Bullem.
