BREAKING: 35-year-old Farmer Emerges Governorship Candidate In Anambra

A 35-year-old farmer, Franklyn Ndife, has emerged the governorship candidate of the Independent Democrat in the November 18 poll in Anambra State.

Ndife was elected unopposed by 243 delegates who participated in the primary of the party conducted at its secretariat in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Thursday.

The Chairman of ID in Cross River State, who doubled as the party’s primary election chairman, Sunday Michael, declared Ndife the candidate of the party for the November election.

The National Chairman of ID, Chief Edozie Madu, tasked the youth in the state to mobilise and ensure the party’s victory at the poll.

Michael stated that ID had the interest of youths and women at heart, saying it would field a female deputy governor to further boost the party’s chances of winning the election.

In his acceptance speech, Ndife said he had come to make a difference in the political landscape of the state.

He added, “The old people have failed us. We can no longer continue with such retrogressive system.

“The youth must take over the leadership of this state and make life better and meaningful.”
