Igbo quit notice : Yoruba youths ask FG to look deeper, commend Arewa, IPOB over peace agreement

​The Yoruba Youths Congress (YYC) and Coalition of Southwest Youths group have charged the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency look into the root cause of agitations by different ethnic groups in the country.

The YYC said youths must also be adequately engaged in the effort of the Federal Government in dousing the various agitations around the country.

The National President of the Yoruba Youths Congress, Prince Dapo Adepoju who spoke with reporters in Akure, the state capital commended the Arewa and the Coalition of Northern Youths group on the withdrawal of the quit notice given to the Igbo’s living in the north.

The group said it is happy that the northern youths group has shown that they are sincere citizens of the country.

The Yoruba youths said they were satisfied with the mutual peace agreement reached by the Arewa youths and Igbo leaders living in the north.

According to Adepoju, “this has further shown that the unity of our country Nigeria is non negotiable “.

He said all Nigerians are free, and safe to live and do business in any part of the country without fear, saying ” we are all Nigerians irrespective of our ethnic and religious beliefs”

He commended the efforts of the federal government in making sure Nigeria remains a peaceful and united country.

The Yoruba youths also commended the IPOB leader for dropping his initial agitation and openly agreeing to a peaceful and united Nigeria.

The group also urged the Buhari-led administration to incorporate more youths into the helms of affairs of government and to as a matter of urgency call for a national youth confab.

The group said, “We believe there is a root cause of all these agitations, we want the Federal government to look deeper

“We want the Federal government to place premium on the welfare and affair of the youth, you will notice that Youths are at the forefront of this agitations

“The Federal government must engage the Youths in a round table discussion, we must move forward as a nation, ” he said.
