Tension in Delta as Armed Ijaw youths avenge abduction, killing of Gbaramatu indigenes, abducts Aladja Indigene

There is serious tension in Delta State as armed Ijaw youths from Fenegbene community opposite Main Market in Warri South Local Government Area at about 10:20am on Saturday, July 15 avenged the abduction and killing of two Gbaramatu indigene as they allegedly abducted an indigene of Aladja Community,Tuwere Metabor DAILY POST can exclusively report.

DAILY POST gathered that the armed Ijaw youths abducted the Aladja indigenes while on a fishing spree along the Warri river.

The development heightened tension in the area as people are relocating from the area for fear of being hit by stray bullets should a possible crisis between the Urhobo and Ijaw ethnic nationalities starts.

Speaking on behalf of Aladja community, Comrade Ighotegwolor Bezi condemned the abduction of Metobor and called for his immediate and unconditional release by his abductors.

Bezi stated that failure to which,” Ijaws in Urhobo land must quit Urhobo land.”

Contacted, the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka said,” I’m not aware. I will ask the DPO Aladja and get back to you later in the day.”

It would be recalled that two Egbema indigenes were on Thursday, July 13 allegedly abducted and killed by armed Aladja Youths.

The Egbema indigenes are resident in Gbaramatu kingdom.
