SHOCKING REVELATION!!! Buhari’s Refusal To Release Dasuki, Is The Real Reason For The Ongoing Military Coup Plot

Unconfirmed report made available to IgbereTV, has it that President Muhammadu Buhari’s refusal to release the former National Security Adviser, NSA, Sambo Dasuki, from continual incarceration, and the probing of Retired Military Officers, are the reasons for the rumoured coup.

Recall, that the Chief of Army Staff, TY Burutai, had recently dropped a bombshell that Politicians are hobnobbing and influencing top Military Officers, in order to take over the current Federal Government.

However, IgbereTV learnt from sources that the refusal of Buhari to obey court orders, by releasing Dasuki, despite pleas from top Northern leaders, allegedly orchestrated the move for a coup.

“The North is not happy with Buhari, for the prolong detention of Dasuki, and flagrant disobedience to court orders.

Top Northern leaders have begged Buhari, but he refused. Dasuki is from a royal home. The Northerners must rise and defend one of their own. Nnamdi Kanu has been released, the North expected Buhari to release Dasuki also, but the reverse is the case.’’

He added: “I think the Dasuki factor, and the openly and brazen probing of top Military Officers over arms procurement, spurred the Military to start thinking of a coup, especially now that Buhari is sick.’’

Political pundits had maintained that the warning by the Chief of Army Staff, may not deter the alleged coup plotters, unless Buhari does the needful, by aligning himself with the North, to release Dasuki.

Elsewhere, in an article on Thursday, May 18, 2019, titled: ‘The ringing of coup bells, and a cause for deep concern’, a former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, noted that ever since 1966, the Northern ruling class had always effected a coup d’etat, whenever they feel sufficiently threatened with the loss of power.

“They would rather have a core Northern Military Dictator in power, than a Southern Leader or President.

And they are prepared to kill anyone, no matter how highly placed, who stands in their way, or who attempts to oppose or stop them”, Fani-Kayode wrote.

IgbereTV could recall also, that a former Kaduna State Military Administrator, Col. Abubakar Umar Dangiwa, had condemned the continued detention of Dasuki, who has been granted bail by three courts, including the ECOWAS Court.

Umar noted that it has been over one year, since three law courts granted bail to Dasuki.

“The Federal Government, has however refused to release him, citing the untenable excuse of the grievous nature of his offence.

“Our extant Constitution is quite clear on this issue. The Federal Government does not have the power to determine which offence is bailable, or whether an accused person is deserving of bail.

“It should therefore, obey courts’ decisions and release Dasuki, without any further delay. His unlawful detention, campaign of calumny, and pre-trial publicity, make it impossible for him to receive a fair trial.

“The only explanation one can find for Col. Dasuki’s lengthy detention without trial, is that he belongs to the wrong camp. He has also the misfortune of having served as National Security Adviser, to the much-vilified Nigerian President of Ijaw extraction.

“All well-meaning Nigerians must speak out against his unfair and unlawful treatment. We cannot afford to remain neutral in the face of this monumental injustice.

“When one Nigerian is unlawfully detained, all of us must have the moral consciousness to feel psychologically incarcerated.”

Although, the Presidency on Tuesday, had reacted to the reasons for Dasuki’s continual incarceration, saying that the ex-NSA was still in detention despite court orders, because there are additional charges against him, for which he has not been granted bail.

The government also said security agencies were still conducting investigations on some allegations against the ex-NSA, which necessitates his continued detention.
