The war against armed fulani herdmen militia its far from been won. over 15 communities in Orumba-South Local Government Area of Anambra State yesterday (Tuesday) reveals that suspected Fulani herdsmen were raping their women and children.
Chukwudi Ugochukwu the spokesperson of the community made this known to Ebonyitvnews reporter during a stakeholders meeting held at Orumba-South Local Government Council Secretariat.
Ugochukwu lamented that herdsmen allowed their cows to graze on farms, thereby destroying people’s livelihoods.
Chukwudi Ugochukwu says “We live along the boundary with Imo State by Arondizuogu. All the farmlands there have been devastated by the herdsmen.
“Some of our women have been raped on the farmlands but they refused to talk so that they will not be stigmatised. The entire Umunze is under threat.”
He alleges that some women and girls had been raped continuously on their way to their farms by the suspected herdsmen, adding that no fewer than 20 of such cases had being recorded.
