Men of the Nigeria Police Force from Zone 5 have arrested the leader of Udu Local Government Council Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Friday Okotogbo, DAILY POST can exclusively report.

Okotogbo, who is representing Ward 9 Ekete Town, was arrested following complaints by some aggrieved Councillors from Udu.

It was gathered that the Councillors had approached the police with complaints that Rt. Hon. Friday Okotogbo allegedly denied them of their legislative constitutional rights by not convening the legislative house since February 2016 till date as well as keeping the house mace in his private residence since inception of the house.

It was also gathered that the leader of the legislative house allegedly deprived principal members of the house and councillors from holding meetings with the council chairman as stipulated by the Delta State law.

A member of Concerned Udu Citizen, Jim Oko, described that the alleged acts of the legislative leader as “a gross misconduct against the rules of the house”.

As at the time of filing this report, the Udu Local Government Council Chairman could not be reached for comments as calls to his mobile phone did not connect.

However, a Council source who craved anonymity confirmed the report.

According to the source,” Chairman is making efforts to settle the disputes between the councillors.”
