Biafrans React to High Court's Bail Refusal to Kanu; Vow to Press on

Biafra: Whether Court Grant Bail Or Not We Must Move Forward – Biafrans Vows

As tension is building over the High Court ruling to determine the bail application filed by the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra; reactions are pouring in. The much anticipated ruling is set to come in hours; Justice Binta Nyaka has a burden over her; either to make history or join the team of puppets Judges abusing legal profession or the Nigerian Judiciary.

While the people are curiously waiting; Biafrans have made a decision and strongly conveyed a message that the Court outcome will not in any way deter their resolve as their eyes are focused on the goal- which is to achieve the sovereignty of Biafra which was lost 49 years ago. There is mixed reaction, as some believe that Nnamdi Kanu will be granted bail while some believe that Muhammed Buhari will not let the trial Judge to dispense justice.

Reacting to the expected ruling today; some Biafrans that spoke to this reporter- Ifeanyi Chijioke have made it clear that they are less interested in the outcome of the matter. “The ruling today is not the restoration of Biafra; if they rule to release our leader; it is a welcomed development and if they rule to keep him, we shall continue to pursue Biafra until it comes” one Mr chijindu said.

The release of Nnamdi Kanu has been an obsession for the people of Biafra but it seems the people of Biafra are now adapting to the situation. They are coming to the realization that the detention of Nnamdi Kanu is the key to keeping the struggle alive and high. While they have made it clear that the outcome of the Court will make no difference; they could not deny the fact that Nnamdi Kanu’s bail will give them joy.

‘As for the joy; we long to be happy, we want our leader released and yet we continue to fight, if he is not released we still continue to fight. There is nothing more or less. But we want him released” he concluded.
