See What Garba Abdulazeez Said About The Great Igbo People & The Epic Reply He Got

Even if we give Igbos the whole Nigeria they will still complain & point fingers cuz if you look at the number of Igbos doing businesses in the north & South west successfully making a comfortable life you will see that northerners & South west give so much to Igbos than Igbos gives to Hausa Fulani & Yoruba, by the way Hausa fulani & Yoruba make more Igbos billionaires than Igbos make Hausa fulani & Yoruba go to sabongari in Kano or Alaba in Lagos among few commercial areas you will see that there’s more Igbos than Hausa fulani as in Kano & more Igbos than yoruba in Alaba & commercial areas of Kano & Lagos yet Igbos still are not satisfied always ranting & wanting to have more BY Garba Abdulazeez

Garba Abdulazeez, have expressed the typical mindset of an uneducated Hausa/ Fulani. This is the mindset upon which their leaders, both political & religious, strives on. This is the mindset that Jonathan tried to change by building Almajiri schools, a move that was staunchly resisted & cost him his presidency. I said uneducated Hausa/Fulani because it’s education that will cure them of this malaise ( mind you, being learned is different from being educated). I’ve always observed that an educated Hausa/Fulani with entrepreneurial mindset is always eager to align with an Igbo man. Be it commerce, industry & manufacturing etc, they recognises the uniqueness, creativity, foresight & versatility of an Igbo man to make far reaching decisions & take calculated risks. Or else who else in this country will buy a putrid swamp in the outskirt of Lagos & turn it into a business hub of international standard & reputation.

When Igbo traders where dislodged from Alaba/suru near Orile to the swamps in Ojo, the intentions was to discourage them to the point of leaving lagos. However, when they gave us lemon, we made lemonades. Accommodating? Who’s accommodating who? The Hausa/ Fulani does not accommodate. It’s the peaceful nature of the igbos that is sustaining them everywhere they go. That’s why you don’t see much of other tribes in the north, because they can’t tolerate a fraction of what we endure everyday in the north. Threats, provocations, insults & intimidations are the order of the day. People killed for telling someone not to wash his legs in front of their shops, girls abducted & forced into marriage against the wishes of her parents, markets burned to the ground every time there’s riot in town, even when such riots does not immediately or remotely concern the igbos. Men lynched for voicing their opposition to buhari’s candidacy. Men ordered by hoodlums to close their businesses & leave town for challenging their imams, or winning contracts their patron is interested in.

Yet it the midst of all these, with patience & dedication, he builds successful businesses, contributes to the growth & development of his immediate environment, & spends a greater part of his life living & building his family there. Igbos are a blessing to this country not the problem. The problems of this country are uneducated half baked literates who passed through schools without letting the schools pass through them. The Garba Abdulazeezs of the north who take advantage of the high level of illiteracy-induced ignorance among his people to build ’15 minutes’ fame through bigotry & deception.By Ugochukwu Esinaulo
